The return of Enyimba Football Club to their home turf in Aba received a major boost after the contractor handling the project delivered materials for the completion of work.
The materials were delivered on Thursday by Moni Michelle and club boss Felix Anyansi Agwu was on hand to witness the arrival of trucks loaded with equipment.
After playing away from Aba for two seasons due to rehabilitation work, the seven-time league champions are definitely on their way back to their formidable fortress.
Speaking to journalists at the stadium, Anyansi Agwu said: "The arrival of these materials is very important because it means that we would soon be playing in front of our fans again. Our fans in Aba make the difference in our games and we can't wait to be back.
"I deeply commend the efforts of our number one supporter, the executive governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for not only giving this rehabilitation the go ahead, but also for his commitment to completing it, despite other pressing challenges of the state. It is remarkable."
Pressed for an actual date of return of Enyimba to Aba, a visibly pleased Anyansi Agwu said "very soon."
